Bored of dusty exhibits under glass? Want to touch, feel and taste history and science? Check out some of the world’s most exciting museums, according to a new list

The travel experts at The Times have just named the coolest museums around the globe, and heading the list is the recently opened Darwin Centre in London, with its high-tech displays of fascinating bugs a million miles away from the stuffed animals of the past.

Giant dinosaurs, space shuttles and Mexican treasures also make an appearance in these museums, along with the chance for your budding adventurers and boffins to get their hands dirty with interactive challenges.
