World champions Italy beat France 2-0 in Zurich to go through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2008.
The Italians emerged as runners-up in Group C thanks to goals from Andrea Pirlo and Daniele De Rossi.
It was a nightmare match for France, who lost Franck Ribery to a suspected broken leg and had Eric Abidal sent off before being eliminated from the competition.
Italy will meet Group D winners Spain in the last eight in Vienna on Sunday.
Holland, already through as group winners, beat Romania 2-0 in Berne, knocking them out after a string of gritty performances.
Second-half goals from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie gave a Dutch side showing nine changes a comfortable win.
Holland finished with nine points ahead of Italy on four. Romania and France were eliminated with two points and one point respectively.
