Fisher wins European Open
|
England's Ross Fisher holed a bunker shot at the final hole to win the European Open by seven strokes.
In wind and rain at the London Club in Kent, Fisher carded a final round of 68 to finish on 20 under par.
He was well clear of Sergio Garcia, who came second with a final round of 66.
Fisher had dominated the tournament from the first round, when he broke the course record with a 63.
And he closed in on victory with a 60-foot putt for an eagle at the fifth hole in the final round.
Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell finished third and South Africa's David Frost claimed a place in the Open by finishing fourth.
