Ferrari suffer failure

Ferrari's rivals have been given their first glimmer of hope ahead of the start of the Formula 1 season after the team suffered mechanical problems in testing.

Ferrari are believed to have the quickest car on the grid at present and their rivals have been scrabbling around in a desperate attempt to cut the gap.

But Felipe Massa suffered engine failure during testing in Bahrain this week.

Despite being confident about solving the problem in press briefings, the team have no idea where the problem lies and the likes of McLaren are confident it will give them the ultimate opportunity to play catch up.
