Billy, Everton: Gaffer, do you work Friday nights? Anyway, I'm wondering how many black players have represented the Republic of Ireland since the Premiership started?
The Gaffer says: I don't usually work Friday nights. I prefer a few drams down the boozer discussing the good ol' days. As for Ireland, Chris Hughton was their first black player in 1979 and since then there have been many more, including Phil Babb, Paul McGrath, Terry Phelan, Steven Reid, Curtis Fleming and Clinton Morrison. I can find no definitive list.

Harding Glos: Which manager signed Steve Bull for Wolves? And what is Bully up to now?
The Gaffer says: Bull took up the manager's post at Blue Square Premier side Stafford Rangers in February. Unfortunately they are now mathmetically relegated. He also has a regular newspaper column called 'The scouting report'. Bull was brought to Molineux by Graham Turner in November 1986.

Maddso, Belfast: Being a Manchester City fan, whos City's most capped player ever, and for which nation? Cheers Gaffer.

Scott, Salford: Gaffer, can you find out please what the biggest attendance was for a friendly game in Britain? The teams involved and the venue. Cheers, a few pints riding on this.
The Gaffer says: No problem Scott. The record is 104,670 who were at Rangers v Eintracht Frankfurt at Hampden Park on October 17, 1961.

Lee, EFC: With you mentioning the Argentina team gaff, it reminded me of the lad Brown who played for them. Not a very Argentinian name. I'm sure if had some family links to these shores?
The Gaffer says: Jose Luis Brown is your man, who played sweeper in that great Argentinian team. I can't find anything other than anecdotal evidence of British links, with some suggesting his family originally hailed from Leith in Edinburgh and others suggesting Irish descent. What's certain is that there is a strong Irish influence in a lot of Latin American sport from the late 19th century, due to a flood of settlers there. That is almost certainly the root of his very British/Irish-sounding name.

Harding, Glos: How many players have scored hat-tricks for three different clubs in the Premier League?
The Gaffer says: This old chestnut! There are three - Teddy Sheringham (Spurs, Man Utd and Portsmouth), Les Ferdinand (QPR, Newcastle, Spurs) and Kevin Campbell (Arsenal, Nottm Forest, Everton). Don't listen to anyone telling you Andy Cole also achieved this. He scored Premier League hat-tricks for Newcastle and Man Utd, but no-one else.

David: Did Nigel Clough score a hat-trick for Liverpool?
The Gaffer says: No, he didn't. Probably his finest match in a pretty disappointing Anfield career was when he scored twice to ignite a sensational comeback from 3-0 down at home to Manchester United in 1994. Neil Ruddock's header (and his famously woozy celebration) completed a remarkable 3-3 draw. He did score a hat-trick in just four minute for Nottingham Forest against QPR in 1987-88 though.

Jay, Oldham:
Alreet Gaff. As far as I know only Oldham and Wigan have the nickname 'the Latics'. Who are the original Latics?

They overcame Borussia Dortmund in the 1964-65 Fairs Cup (6-1 and 4-0) but have failed to do it in five attempts since then
