Pensioner stabbed to death

A pensioner has been stabbed to death in a street attack in a village in South Wales.
The 66-year-old woman, of Llanbradach, Caerphilly County, was attacked as she walked along the street shortly after 8pm on Tuesday, Gwent Police said.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by police.
The pensioner was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with stab wounds to her upper body and later died.
Detective Superintendent Adrian Erasmus said: 'We have opened an incident room and detectives have been working through the night on this case.
'House-to-house enquiries and searches are being carried out in the area and a 22-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody being questioned.'
