England maintain perfect record
|
England have moved closer to the World Cup finals in South Africa with an emphatic 4-0 victory in Kazakhstan.
Goals from Gareth Barry and Emile Heskey in the first half gave England a flattering lead after they were more than matched by their lowly-ranked opponents.
The Kazakhs, beaten 5-1 at Wembley last October, faded after the break and England wrapped up a sixth win in six qualifying games when Wayne Rooney hooked in a third and Frank Lampard converted a penalty.
Victory left Fabio Capello's side comfortably ahead of nearest rivals Croatia and Ukraine with a home match against Group Six whipping boys Andorra to come on Wednesday.
