Mandelson away 'unpacking his Speedos'
|
Peter Mandelson and Gordon Brown have been attacked in their absence during Prime Minister's Questions.
The Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague said that the pair should be in the UK while the economy is struggling.
Mr Hague said: 'They are all over the place. The Prime Minister is on his way to Chile, the Business Secretary has just arrived in Brazil.
'Shouldn't he be implementing these schemes instead of unpacking his Speedos on a Latin American beach?'
Mr Hague added: 'Isn't it time to get on with these things?
'On the question of a fiscal stimulus, yesterday the Governor of the Bank of England warned against another significant round of fiscal expansion when the deficit is already as big as it is.
'This morning, apparently, the guilt option has failed for the first time in many years. Wasn't the Governor of the Bank of England right to give this warning?'
