Glastonbury gust will power phones

Orange is using wind power to help Glastonbury revellers keep their phone batteries topped up.
The Orange REcharge Pod will be at the Pennard Hill camping grounds, and will be a free service allowing all festival goers to charge their mobile phones throughout the weekend.
A spokesperson for Glastonbury Festival said: Glastonbury Festival prides itself on being the first festival to host alternative solutions to environmental concerns."
The Orange REcharge Pod is a great initiative that supports Love the Farm, Leave No Trace and encourages people to open their eyes to the many practical uses of renewable energy.
It is estimated that the Orange REcharge pod will charge thousands of mobile phones over the course of the three day festival, and can charge up to 100 mobile phones simultaneously using a wind generator and solar panels.
Glastonbury Festival 2008 takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset, from 27-29 June.
