Brain Training has literally brought gaming to the masses. Millions of people all over the world who had never touched a gaming console before raced out to buy one after seeing adverts for the game, and a new generation of gamers were born. Well, we say new generation, but in fact its probably the most cross-generational game available, attracting little girls and old men and every other type of person in between.
More Brain Training isnt simply the same set of mini-games with new questions. Rather, a whole new set of games have been included and they certainly are head-scratchers. Rather than simply answering a sum youll have to look at the multiple possible answers, chose one and then write down the corresponding symbol next to the correct answer. Instead of using your own knowledge youre made to rely on reaction speed and betray your natural instinct. There are many maths, word, memory and even musical games to work the old grey matter. Playing a virtual piano and shouting Rock! Paper! and Scissors! into the DS means its not always perfect for playing on the bus on your way to work but its guaranteed youll be able to find the 10 minutes a day to exercise your mind and gradually bring down your brain age.
This time, theres more concentration on writing things down than speaking the answers. This is great in that youll no longer have to struggle with the machines bizarre inability to understand the word blue, for example. While youll sometimes find that the game will misinterpret the symbols you write, its easy enough to adjust to how youre expected to write things.
This is a great sequel offering plenty of fresh gameplay for those whove exercised their brains as much as is possible with the first game. Expect a whole new workout for the mind.
