At last! We got all overexcited about the return of Desperate Housewives back in January - but then Channel 4 postponed screening series four because of that pesky US writers' strike. Still, it's all been resolved now - and the show's finally back on our screens. So what can we expect from the next 17 (yes - 17!) weeks on Wisteria Lane?

Need a quick recap on what happened at the end of the last series? Well, in a nutshell: Susan and Mike got married in the woods; Edie promptly hanged herself after Carlos broke up with her; Bree pretended to be pregnant in order to claim daughter Danielle's baby as her own; Lynette was battling lymphoma, with the "help" of her hitherto estranged mum Stella; and Gabrielle had just got hitched to mayoral candidate Victor before learning his attentions were politically motivated. Just another ordinary day on Wisteria Lane then...

So what happens next? Oh, just the usual: babies, blackmail, break-ups, back-stabbing, bitching (and that's just the things that begin with "b"). Let's catch up with the main characters and find out what lies in store for them all...
