Rodney’s out!
Rodney Marsh, the grouchy former footballer who caused controversy with his “sexist” gags, has been booted out of the jungle in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
Marsh found himself in the bottom two with Gemma Atkinson, but failed to beat the ex-Hollyoaks actress in the public vote. With admirable candour, Marsh admitted he’d "rather chew on a broken lightbulb" than stay any longer in the camp. And he didn’t hold back on the subject of his nemesis Lynne Franks, who left on Friday night.
"I despise everything she stands for,” he said. “I think it is fair to say that she irritated me."
Marsh also spoke out on the hot topic of the relationship between Cerys Matthews and Marc Bannerman. “From the first second that they met, you could tell there was something between them. Even at the greeting party they were outside having coffee together. They just seemed to get on fantastically, they just connected."
Overall, though, the 63-year-old was unrepentant about his performance on the show. "I acted like a five year old kid sometimes,” he said. “I don't apologise. What you see is what you get."
