Good Golly, Miss Holly

Dancing on Ice presenter Holly Willoughby has caused uproar after she appeared in a very revealing – and probably quite chilly – dress on Sunday’s show.

The programme, which aired at 6.15pm, attracted a number of complaints, as well as sparking debate on internet message boards. "Why does every woman on TV these days only seem to wear clothes which show their wares?” wrote one.

“This outfit is totally inappropriate,” added a concerned parent. “My two children, aged eight and 10, love the show and we all watch it together as a family before their bedtime. But even they were asking why she was wearing very little… Surely the bosses should have realised and asked her to change?”

Said another: "My husband and I have great fun trying to bet how low her top will be each week. She does struggle to keep them in, doesn't she?"

An ITV spokesman attempted to weather the storm by pointing out that five complaints out of 9.8 million viewers is really not very much, adding: "The dramatic costumes are all part of the Dancing on Ice show and we are very surprised Holly's dress has caused such a stir."

What will Willoughby wear next week, we wonder? Presumably a polo neck jumper…
