Oh, Peggy!

It’s three short months since EastEnders villain Archie Mitchell was exposed as a liar and a cheat. Wife Peggy’s reaction to her husband’s misdemeanours was pleasingly brutal. “Kill him!” she screamed at Phil, leaving her eldest son to concoct a devilish plan involving a blowtorch and some quick-setting concrete. Eventually Phil lets Archie go on the condition he leaves Walford forever – a decision Phil’s now bitterly regretting.
This week, Archie makes a sensational return to the Square, bringing with him a shock secret that will rock the Mitchell clan to its very foundations. And the first step in his masterplan is to lure gullible Peggy back into his sticky web. Needless to say, Phil is furious when he catches the pair snogging, and shouts at his mum: “You make me sick.”
Later, Phil goes back on his promise to Peggy not to hurt Archie. After threatening to kill him if he doesn’t sling his hook, he drops a bullet into Archie’s whisky glass as a chilling final warning.
An insider told the Daily Star: “Phil did Archie a favour by not killing him the first time around when he was ordered to by Peggy. But now Archie is back and Phil is regretting not bumping him off.” You can see the action unfold on 14 July.
