Alesha Dixon gets cold feet over Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing newbie Alesha Dixon isn’t showing much in the way of dedication to her new job. When asked if she was returning to the show next year, she said: “I’d like to, but there’s talk of me going to America to promote my album, so I’ll take each day as it comes.”
The former Mis-Teeq warbler created huge controversy when she replaced panel veteran Arlene Phillips for this year’s show. AuntieThe Beeb was promptly slammed by fans who cursed the corporation for its apparent ageism in picking Alesha for her looks over Arlene’s expert dancing knowledge.
A show insider told The Sun: “We're very keen to keep Alesha, especially given the fuss it caused. But she is super-ambitious and she won't be committing to anything until next year, once she sees what else is on offer. Bosses will be on tenterhooks."
When pressed about next year's panel line-up, a spokesman for the Beeb went on the record to say "Nothing is confirmed”. But frankly, we can’t say we’d be too bothered if Alesha did go to the US – she’s hardly added any punch to this year’s panel…
