Becky's shock discovery

She's known for her love of cheap cider and Regal King Size, but Coronation Street's Becky McDonald is about to make a sobering discovery on New Year's Eve – when she realises she's pregnant. The Rovers barmaid is so terrified of being a mum, she considers having a secret abortion.
"I never want to give birth," she confides in close friend Hayley Cropper. "My genes are rotten and God help any child who inherited them."
Meanwhile, her husband of two months Steve is desperate for a baby. Unaware that Becky's already expecting, he's annoyed at her apparent reluctance to start a family, telling her: "I wish you'd told me before we got wed."
And there's clearly something in the water in Weatherfield, because Becky's not the only one with a bun in the oven. Later this year, Molly Dobbs also discovers she's pregnant – but doesn't know if the dad is devoted hubby Tyrone or grubby-overalled lover Kevin Webster. Oh dear.
