Sara: 'I was bullied'

Sara Dhada is the latest contestant to be fired from The Apprentice after failing to sell her cakes – they clearly weren't hot enough, arf – in last night's wedding task. But the 25-year-old claims she was bullied by the other contestants and nearly walked out.

"I was shocked to be fired, but then relieved," said the trainee barrister. "I couldn't function or think properly to defend myself. It all got a bit too much and I'm glad to be out. I've never been bullied before."

She added: "To experience it was horrible. It's hard to succeed when you don't gel with your team mates. They didn't like me and treated me as if I was nothing, as if my ideas had no value."

"I refused to cry because I'm a strong person, but considered walking out. The thought of letting down my family made me stay."

After her arrival back at the house in week six, the others turned on her. "Usually when people went back to the house after the boardroom, they were hugged and kissed. But nobody did that to me two weeks earlier. Lee and Alex had a real go and got shouty."

She even compared her experiences on the show to being on another infamous reality TV programme. "It was so aggressive. I thought, 'What have I done in applying for this? Am I in the Big Brother house?'"

But Sara had kind words for laughing stock turned national treasure (ish) Raef, who defended her on that occasion. "Raef was fantastic, though, a real hero," she gushed. "He was the only one who stood up for me."

Raef just gets better and better, doesn't he?
