Dannii to quit The X Factor?
Remember all those ‘Dannii Minogue axed from The X Factor’ headlines which were splashed all over the tabloids at the end of last year? Well, they’re back with a vengeance. The 37-year-old Aussie popstrel still hasn’t put pen to paper to sign up for the new series, prompting claims that she’s about to walk out.
“It was tough for Dannii last year and she got a lot of negative press,” whinged an X Factor insider. “A person can only take so much before asking, ‘Is it really worth it?’.
“Dannii felt bullied by Sharon [Osbourne] during her first series and that was tough, so she was looking forward to Cheryl [Cole] joining the team last year.
“But that became a nightmare too when the rumour mill went into overdrive with stories about the two of them competing against each other for Simon Cowell’s attention. Simon is being patient so far, but she can’t leave it too much longer.”
Crikey! Don’t leave it too long Dannii or you might find Amanda Holden’s been ushered into your lukewarm leather seat on the judging panel. And nobody wants that.
The 2009 contest to find this year’s Alexandra Burke – or Same Difference, for that matter – is already well underway. Thousands of hopefuls hit The O2 in London yesterday for the preliminary rounds, hoping to be selected for an audition in front of Simon, Louis Walsh and Cheryl.
Oh, and Dannii of course. Possibly.
