Teen rebel Victoria has a chilling encounter – in more ways than one – when she falls through a frozen lake and comes face to face with Shane's lifeless body. The horror unfolds after Victoria goes drinking with Daz, Scarlett, Jake and Aaron. Having downed a string of cocktails, Victoria decides to take a short cut across the lake.
Dancing on ice can be a risky business at the best of times, however, and when the frozen water cracks, Victoria finds herself taking an early bath. As she plunges into the icy depths, the teenager spots murdered Shane floating beneath – and, unless the others can pull her out before hypothermia takes hold, she could well be joining him.
Elsewhere, the villagers mount one final defiant protest on Christmas Day in a bid to save their church from the property developers, as their carol concert at Ashley's final service turns into a sit-in.
Meanwhile, love cheat Donna confesses her infidelity to a horrified Marlon. But it's the hapless chef who has the last laugh as he gets his revenge by framing his wife's lover Ross for murder. So much for peace and goodwill to all men, eh?
