Low key wedding for Sian

TV weather presenter Sian Lloyd has secretly married in a low-key 'no-nonsense' ceremony after a whirlwind romance in 2007.

Sian, 49, married her motor-racing entrepreneur fiancé Jonathan Ashman, 59, in the village of Portmeirion.

Just seven guests witnessed the intimate private ceremony at the popular north Wales attraction.

The low-key late-December wedding comes a year after Lloyd's high-profile split from former fiancé Montgomeryshire MP Lembit Opik.

The Lib-Dem MP announced his split from Lloyd in December 2006 and confirmed he was dating singer Gabriela Irimia, one half of the Cheeky Girls pop duo.

One year on, Lloyd revealed she was to be 'married within weeks' after Mr Ashman popped the question during a visit to Mount Kilimanjaro.

The village of Portmeirion became famous as the backdrop for 1960s TV classic The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan.

Guest Stifyn Parri said: 'It was a very private and very simple occasion - no paparazzi and no nonsense. It was all very, very simple. I think we got together at 12.30pm and left about 4pm.

'There were seven guests. We were in a private room at the back of the hotel at Portmeirion which looks down on the beach. It was just very elegant and simple.'
