Paris goes to Harvard

It’s probably one of the more unlikely places you’d expect to see Paris Hilton, but the heiress yesterday found herself addressing students at Harvard University.

Pazza visited the faculty after winning the "Woman of the Year" award from Harvard's satirical student magazine, Lampoon. It’s not exactly the highest honour the university can bestow on a human being, but good on her for going along.

And what insightful words did the 26-year-old have for the 200-strong body of students who waited an hour in the freezing cold for her? "You guys are so hot,” she said, adding wisely, “Harvard's hot."

Before the star’s arrival, Lampoon president Chris Schleicher had to reassure the restless crowd, who couldn’t believe Paris was really on her way. "All of you can stab me if she doesn't come," he promised. "She's really coming."

When she did arrive, the happy audience were whipped into even more of a frenzy of excitement (OK, probably not) when the heiress told them her Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie was with her. But then, dashing their hopes, she added: “Just kidding.”

She went on: “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine standing here, standing on the steps of the Harvard Lampoon,” she said. “It's really exciting and I've had such a great time.”
