Earache for Wayne on St Tropez holiday

Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s summer jaunt to the Côte d’Azur almost ended in tragedy at the weekend, when the spud-faced nipper was left needing 45 stitches after falling over on the couple’s £150,000 chartered yacht in St Tropez. Ouch!
The 23-year-old Manchester United dribbler was a little worse for wear after attending an all night party at the swanky resort on the French Riviera. Wayne and his chums had been boozing at the famous Quai Joseph nightclub, before they returned to the yacht at dawn.
“Part of Mr Rooney’s ear had almost been sliced off,” confirmed a hospital source. “It was difficult to sew back up because it was bleeding so badly, but the operation was successful.”
“It sounds as if he’s been lucky,” added a Manchester United insider. “If he’d injured his legs there would have been hell to pay.”
Hmmm… still, look on the bright side, Wayne: at least the ear-bashing you’re likely to encounter when you run into Sir Alex Ferguson will be dampened down by the blood-soaked bandage wound around your lug.
Wayne and Coleen arrived back in the country on a private jet last night, touching down at Liverpool’s John Lennon airport. Among the glamorous couple’s luggage? A giant bottle of Belvedere vodka.
You might want to lay off that for a while, Wazza.
