Lindsay: 'I'm not a lesbian'

There have been whirlwinds of speculation and gusts of vague, teasing innuendo – but now actress Lindsay Lohan has spoken out in slightly clearer terms about her relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson.

"I think it's pretty obvious who I'm seeing," admitted the actress in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. "I think it's no shock to anyone that it's been going on for quite some time… She's a wonderful person and I love her very much."

When asked if she’d been with a girl before, Lohan reportedly laughed and responded, "I don't know. Maybe." And asked if she would classify herself as bisexual, she said: “Maybe. Yeah,” but said she wouldn’t class herself as a lesbian.

Whyever not, eh? She continued: “First of all, you never know what's going to happen – tomorrow, in a month, a year from now, five years from now. I appreciate people, and it doesn't matter who they are, and I feel blessed to be able to feel comfortable enough with myself that I can say that."

Li-Lo’s father Michael Lohan voiced his strong disapproval of the relationship in September, saying Samantha "uses her middle finger more than she uses words" and calling her "dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity". He also said he’d been informed "first hand" that the Brit told guests to use the cardboard roll when she runs out of toilet paper. Ouch.

But that aside, according to Lindsay, the rest of the Lohan clan have been very supportive. "It's never really come up as an issue," she said. "We're close; we've been through a lot. They're supportive of me whether I'm with a guy or a girl. They're just supportive of me as a person."
