Sir Elton struck by E. coli

Ailing Sir Elton John has vowed to be back on his feet by next week - so as not to let his fans down any further by scrapping more gigs.
The 'Rocket Man' legend was admitted to hospital on Friday after his flu-like conditions worsened, with doctors discovering the star was also suffering from an E. coli bacterial infection as well.
He was forced to scrap a series of gigs in the UK and Ireland last month, and further postponed plans to take to the stage with Billy Joel in the US later this month.
However, Sir Elton is desperate to return to the stage - and wants to be well enough to leave hospital on Monday so that he can prepare to perform with Joel on 14 November, according to The Sun.
The scrapped shows in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon are all slated to be rescheduled.
