John and Jen back together?

It seems that philandering blues crooner John Meyer wants to have his proverbial cake and eat it. Just eight weeks after unceremoniously dumping Friends star Jennifer Aniston, the dithering rocker is trying to woo her back by bombarding her with masses of loved-up text messages.
“John and Jennifer had a pretty acrimonious break-up,” a source close to the star told the Daily Mirror. “For a while Jen cut off all ties and refused to speak to him. But over the past few weeks, they’ve both realised how good they were together and how much they mean to one another.”
It turns out Mr Meyer is so determined to win back Jen’s heart that he’s even cut down on two of his most rock’n’roll vices – turning his fingernails yellow by smoking roll-ups and gargling with Jack Daniels every morning. “Determined to show he’s changed, John has cut right back on his drinking and pledged to quit smoking rollies,” confirmed the souce. “He has even written a song about their time together and played it to Jennifer, who was incredibly touched.”
The two have even been out on a rather bizarre-sounding “trial date” as they test the turbulent waters of their relationship. By all accounts, it was a roaring success. “It’s still early days and John is by no means out of the dog house,” continued the source. “But so far things are going well, and both are hopeful of a reconciliation.”
