Cheryl: 'I don't trust anyone'
|
Cheryl Cole may be riding high on the success of The X Factor but she has revealed she doesn't fully trust her footballer husband Ashley.
Despite being lusted after by half the population the singer revealed she is insecure just like the rest of us.
Ashley allegedly had an affair with a hairdresser last year. Cheryl has previously described the allegations as "horrendous" and it seems they've had a lasting effect on the star.
Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine she said: "I've come to the conclusion that I don't trust anybody in life except my mother and my dogs.
"I'm scared to let people know how much they mean to me, and it's scary that you can love a small hairy thing so much." Hopefully she's talking about her dogs!
Despite a previous rocky road Cheryl says she has a "happy" marriage, describing Ashley as a "simple person".
"Nothing's under the surface with him," she added. "Nothing's a problem, everything's easy and comfortable. He's a genuine nice person."
The Girls Aloud star revealed she's realistic about life and currently feels on "the biggest roller-coaster ever" after growing up on a council estate in Heaton, Newcastle.
In the interview she also spoke of difficulties experienced by her brother and grandfather because of alcohol and said she did not drink more than the "odd glass of wine to relax".
"Drinking is scary to me now. I'm scared of losing control of how I feel or what I'm thinking."
