Oi! Britney! No!
Before we go any further, we'd just like to file this story under "highly unlikely to happen" - but because it's such a drop-your-bacon-sandwich-in-shock piece of gossip, we feel it's our duty to pass it on anyway.
Ready? According to the News of the World, Britney Spears is in the final stages of talks to adopt a pair of Chinese twins.The under-fire pop princess apparently plans to give a home to the six-year-old boys to fill the void left by losing custody of her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Funnily enough, we're not alone in thinking this is a very, very bad idea. "It doesn't seem that Britney has thought this through completely," one pal told the tabloid, in what may possibly be the understatement of the year. "Not a week goes by without something strange happening to her now. She's doing herself no favours."
Meanwhile, despite those constant rumours of overspending and cashflow problems, Britters has further worried her friends by reportedly splashing out £25,000 - on her own funeral. The reason? The singer is afraid her spiralling lifestyle may lead to an early grave - so, should this turn out to be the case, she wants to ensure she gets the send-off she deserves. That's a cheery thought for a Monday morning, isn't it?
"Paying for a funeral is a sensible thing to do - but not when you're only 25!" says the same flabbergasted friend. "It's a case of too much too soon with Britney." Yep, we think that just about sums the whole thing up...
