Bea to the rescue
Oooh - don't you just hate it when two of your friends decide to have parties on the same night? That's what happened to everyone's second-favourite royal redhead, Princess Beatrice, on Saturday.
Family commitments meant she was obliged to attend her cousin Peter Phillips' 30th birthday knees-up at Cocoon and Volstead nightclub in London's West End, along with the likes of Prince William, Prince Harry and Kate Middleton. But then she got an emergency call from a friend in need - Kate Moss - and was forced to make a mercy dash across town to Davinia Taylor's party at the Colour Rooms in East London.
The problem? Well, Ms Moss had clearly gone to great lengths to organise the 30th birthday bash for former Hollyoaks star Davinia - rounding up the likes of Sadie Frost, Naomi Campbell and Sienna Miller for the '80s-themed gathering. But things turned a little sour when Davinia pooh-poohed Kate's plans to book some burlesque erotic dancers.
"Kate seemed huffy and wanted to head off to carry on partying elsewhere," says an insider. "No one else, especially Davinia, wanted to leave." So that's when the supermodel wracked her brains to think of a suitable peacemaker, and came up with... erm... Princess Bea. They've been friends for ages, apparently. Who knew?
"Beatrice was a star," the source continues. "She told Davinia that Kate wasn't snubbing her but just wanted to go dancing where they could carry on until the small hours. She got both blondes speaking again." Gosh - how nice to see that Bea has inherited the Royal Family's penchant for tact and diplomacy.
