Becks teams up with a redhead

David Beckham is hooking up with a redhead, but there’s no need for Posh to worry – the ginger nut in question is Elmo from Sesame Street.

The LA Galaxy star has filmed an episode of the hit show with the infamous puppet, tasked with introducing a new word to Elmo. We all know Becks isn't known for his wide-ranging vocabulary but he chose the word "persistence" and explained to Elmo why it was important to him. How sweet.

According to The Sun, a source said: "David has always been a huge fan of the show. When he was a kid he watched it, like a lot of people, and knew all the characters. He was more than happy to go on.

"He loves dealing with kids and thought it would be a great way to get through to them. He has developed a great understanding speaking to children with his own boys and through his coaching at the Beckham soccer schools.

"He had a great time filming it, a real laugh."

Meanwhile, it seems Becks' generosity has sparked a bitter legal row in Hawaii. After playing with his team at the Aloha Stadium, the LA Galaxy star gave his shirt to two young boys from Honolulu. However, the former best friends aged nine and 10, have both claimed it – so their parents have called in lawyers.

Maybe LA Galaxy president and general manager, Alexei Lalas can solve the problem. He told the Daily Mirror: "I suggest that they get a pair of scissors, cut the thing in two and give half to each."

If only Beckham could be shared around in a similar fashion.
