Kerry rushed to hospital

Kerry Katona

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Kerry Katona.

The heavily pregnant star who has just returned home after being treated for depression at the Priory was rushed to hospital over fears she has pre-eclampsia.

Pre-eclampsia can be fatal for a mum-to-be and baby. Older mums and people with high blood pressure are most likely to suffer from the condition.

Kerry had been complaining of swelling in her legs and ankles for weeks but it's been getting worse and she was ordered to the hospital by her midewife.

She is being treated at a maternity unit in Macclesfield, near her home at Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Her second husband Mark Croft is at her bedside - I'm sure he'll be a great nurse.

Kerry's spokesman Max Clifford said: "It is a very worrying time but she is in the safest place for her and her baby.

"If it turns out to be pre-eclampsia then it can be a very serious condition, she'll need urgent medical attention."

Filming on Kerry's MTV documentary Crazy In Love has been postponed until she gets better - how will will cope?

The former singer is expecting her fourth child. She already has three daughters - Molly, six, and Lily Sue, five, by ex-husband Brian McFadden and Heidi, one, by Croft.

Here's hoping mother and baby will be fine.
