Scarlett sells used tissue on eBay

It’s the bargain of the century – and if you act fast, it could be yours. Hollywood film star Scarlett Johansson is auctioning one of her used tissues on eBay and at time of writing, the snotrag is going for $2,205 (£1,469).
Why? You might ask. Well the idea came during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in which the actress revealed she’d caught a cold from co-star Samuel L Jackson during the filming of new movie The Spirit.
Scar-Jo then suggested that her snot had doubled in value thanks to her cold’s Jackson endorsement, which prompted Leno to hand her a tissue. The star deposited a combination of her sacred mucus and holy lipstick on the item before announcing she would put it on eBay, with proceeds from the sale go to hunger charity USA Harvest.
With three days before bidding ends, there were concerns for some punters on the online auction site. “I'm going to place a very large bid,” wrote one potential buyer. “Can you supply a DNA analysis/report? I'm sure you understand.”
“Hello, no, we will not provide any DNA analysis,” goes the reply. “We will provide the tissue in the autographed bag, as seen on the show and in the pictures here, and the pictures and video of the segment to document it sent to you from The Tonight Show in Burbank.”
“Could you also get Jay Leno to sneeze into the tissue?” asked one. The reply: “No, unfortunately the tissue is as it happened on The Tonight Show – the bag was sealed, autographed live on the show, and put away. We will not be re-opening the bag. We will be vacuum-sealing the ziplock bag into another bag before we ship it to preserve the contents.”
Thankfully, one punter had the cojones to ask the most pertinent question of all: “Why would anyone want to buy a used tissue? That's just disgusting.”
