According to independent surveys commissioned by Ofcom, Orange's network continues to perform at consistently high levels. On going investment sees coverage and performance of the network improve constantly with certain targeted programmes focused on improving inbuilding coverage in more rural areas, as well as coverage on the roads and railways. Over 11,000 sites are now operational covering more than 99% of the UK's population.

Orange is also building its next generation network (3G) and currently has the largest integrated 3G/2.5G network in the UK. Already the 3G service area, where data rates of up to 384kbps (up to 7 times the speed of normal dial up) are available, covers a large proportion of the UK population. If you move out of 3G coverage, you'll seamlessly switch over to GPRS, which covers over 99% of the UK population.
