How to protect yourself in Chat
The following features can help you stay safe in chat:
Ignore
Right mouse click on the nickname in the members list on the right and choose the option to ignore the member. You can also ignore a member's domain if the person comes back under a different nickname and pesters you again (by ignoring a domain you'll be ignoring all other members using the same Internet service as that member). When you receive an unwanted p2p from someone, you also get the option to ignore him or her when this pops up. You can also put yourself on do not disturb under chat options.
Buddy List
You can use the Buddy List feature to keep track of certain members and be notified when they sign on to the chat site. The buddy list shows you which of your buddies are currently signed on. It also gives you a convenient way of launching Person-To-Person Chat with them, regardless of which room they're in. You may want to only memo or p2p with your buddies in which case you can switch these features on under 'Chat Options'.
Viewing the Buddy List
To do this, click on the buddy list tab. If you accidentally shut this window, you only need hit F5 or refresh to get it back.
Deleting a Buddy
To delete a buddy from your buddy list, activate your buddy list as described above. Click the nickname of the member you wish to delete from the list, and then click the 'Delete' button.
Reverse List
If you want to see who's added you to their buddy list, click the 'Reverse' checkbox while viewing your Buddy List.
Deleting yourself from another Member's Buddy List
To do this, view the Reverse Buddy List as above, select the member who you want to remove, and click the 'Delete' button.
