6. Nairobi-Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Why it's dangerous: Compared to some of the other contenders on this list, at first glance there appears to be nothing wrong with this road. The surface is far more modern than our other danger roads but the problem, more than anything appears to be the drivers that take to the route. The Kenyan government has only just started cracking down on drunken driving here which has been a major problem. That plus speeding and improper overtaking manouevres have accounted for a record 320 deaths along the route in one year alone.
