Sporty green runaround
Top UK car manufacturer, the Lightning Car Company, has unveiled their attempt to be successful in the motor market with a green sports car - The Lightning GT.
In June of last year, the company announced plans to develop an electric, luxury British sports car, and the Lightning GT is the fruit of their hard work.
With the recent unveilings of other British supercars including the MC1 and JJAD Project 001, the green aspect of the Lightning GT adds an interesting twist to what seems to be an exciting age and future for UK supercar design.
The hand-built motor will run on 100% electric power, but don't let that put you off because it will be capable of 0-60mph in a super-fast 5 seconds, with the sports version said to go 0-60 in just 4 seconds.
The company says it's decision to make an electric version of the original Lightning GT was inspired because "the global oil supply has peaked and a switch to electric cars is inevitable...".
The car is now available to pre-order, requiring a deposit of £15,000.
