New Eos: Volkswagen's classy coupe cabriolet
|
In the market for a summer cabriolet, but don't want the hassle of a traditional soft-top? Volkswagen might just have the answer with their stunning new Eos coupe cabriolet.
The Eos' unique design and fully automatic five-piece folding roof with sliding glass sunroof - the first ever to be seen in a hard-top cabriolet - offer the best of both worlds, wind-in-your-hair thrills with the security and style of a coupe.
Styling
Roof up or down, the Eos is a real head-turner with its shapely curves set off by 16" alloys. There's nothing to spoil the car's lines even the radio aerial has been tucked into the boot lid. When closed, the rounded metal roof forms part of the classic coupe body shape. With it lowered, the Eos turns into a glamorous, sun-loving convertible and thanks to clever hydraulics this slick transformation takes just 25 seconds.
On unpredictable days the integrated glass sunroof lets you make the most of brighter moments. So you can change your mind as often as the British weather.
Space
Positioned in size between Volkswagen's Golf and the Passat, the light and airy Eos cabin comfortably seats four people with plenty of space for rear passengers and easy access via the innovative automatic sliding front seats. The Eos also offers an impressive 205 litres of boot space with the roof compactly folded away and a roomy 380 litres when it's up.

Safety
The Eos' glamorous looks and innovative technology don't come at the expense of safety. A range of intelligent features include an anti-skid Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP) and Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) to help control the car in those tricky situations. Add to that a class-leading rigid bodyshell, active rollover bar system, front, side and curtain airbags, front fog lights and fast response LED lights and you can enjoy a head-in-the-clouds ride with down-to-earth confidence.
